About Prism of Torah
The Journey
The seeds of the "Prism of Torah" podcast were planted during informal gatherings of childhood friends in Toronto, where Reb Asaf Aharon Prisman shared divrei Torah over sushi and scotch. Recognizing a divine opportunity to spread Torah wisdom, Reb Asaf Aharon committed to preparing concise yet profound weekly insights into the Parashah and Chagim.
Partnering with Eli Kampf of Eli Podcast Productions, the initial email-based MP3 recordings evolved into a globally accessible podcast. Each episode offers a multifaceted exploration, providing a taste of the four main aspects of Torah: Pshat, Remez, Drash, and Sod (Pardes).
The Host
Reb Asaf Aharon Prisman's passion for sharing the depth and beauty of Jewish wisdom has inspired people worldwide. With a unique ability to blend profound insights with practical advice, Reb Prisman has become a sought-after voice in the realm of Torah learning and personal growth.
A Journey of Learning and Growth
Reb Prisman's Torah journey began at Yeshivat Or Chaim in Toronto, where he studied under Rabbi Avishai David. Driven by a thirst for deeper understanding, he continued his studies at Yeshivat Birkat Moshe in Israel and the prestigious Netivot Olam Yeshiva in Bnei Brak, learning from luminaries such as Rabbi Yosef Bruk and Rabbi Nachum Diamant.
Throughout his years of intensive learning, Reb Prisman developed a unique approach he calls "Bederech Ha'avodah" – The Path of Service. This approach focuses on extracting practical applications from Torah study, enabling students to transform abstract concepts into tangible tools for personal growth and Avodas Hashem.
Sharing the Light of Torah
Today, Reb Prisman divides his time between learning in Kollel Beis Hillel in Ramat Beit Shemesh, teaching a daily Daf Yomi shiur, and engaging in one-on-one learning sessions with individuals from diverse backgrounds. His warm, approachable demeanor and keen insight have endeared him to students and listeners alike, as he strives to make Torah wisdom "Shaveh l'kol nefesh" – equally valuable to every soul.
In addition to his in-person teaching, Reb Prisman is the voice behind the acclaimed "Prism of Torah" podcast, where he shares weekly divrei Torah that illuminate the parashah and Jewish holidays through a multifaceted lens. His forthcoming sefer, "Shomer Hapardes/Prism of Torah," distills the essence of his teachings into a powerful guide for personal growth and inspiration.
A Vision for Klal Yisrael
At the heart of Reb Prisman's work lies a deep commitment to the spiritual well-being and growth of Klal Yisrael. He firmly believes that by making Torah wisdom accessible, engaging, and relevant to the modern Jew, we can foster a renewed sense of purpose, connection, and Jewish pride.
Through his teachings, writings, and personal example, Reb Prisman strives to empower individuals to develop a closer relationship with Hashem, cultivate their unique strengths, and contribute to the collective destiny of the Jewish people.
